HOW TO BECOME A CERTIFIED
LANDSCAPE HORTICULTURIST MANAGER

Below please find qualification requirements to become a Certified Landscape Horticulturist Manager.

Experience/Education

It is strongly recommended that candidates have at least 2,000 hours of management experience before taking the Certified Landscape Horticulturist Manager exam. The under-listed education and experience would be an asset:

  • Degree + 3 years industry experience; or

  • Diploma + 4 years industry experience; or

  • 5 years industry experience

Candidates must pass all 7 sections of the manager exams, with a minimum of 70%, in each section (listed below) to earn their designation.

  • Corporate Financial Management

  • Marketing and Sales Management

  • Technical – Exterior Landscaping

  • Leadership and Corporate Citizenship

  • Risk/Law/Contract/Government

  • Innovation, Strategic, Business Succession Planning

  • Human Resource Management

Exams are delivered in Mettl, an online examination system with live proctoring features.

A set of seven manuals, one for each section, is available to facilitate self-study for candidates preparing to earn the CLHM designation.
