USING VALID-8 FOR LANDSCAPE HORTICULTURE CERTIFICATION

  • Register for your exam, CNLA will process your form, create your Valid-8 account and send a Welcome email package with login details.

  • Enter your credentials and click LOG IN to open the ‘Sign-in As’ section (1). In this section:

  • Click on User (2) to open your dashboard.

  • Click on App Uploader (3) to open the Rapid Uploader (4).

  • Use the Rapid Uploader to upload videos from your mobile phone into VALID-8.

  • Use your phone to video yourself at your jobsite.

  • Video yourself showing proper competence [see (c) below].

  • Upload your video using the VALID-8 Rapid Uploader (3) and (4) above.

  • Log into VALID-8 and sign in as a User (see (2) above) to enter your Dashboard.

  • From your Dashboard, you can view:

  • A. Progress Report – a visual display of progress toward completing assigned units.

  • B. Chat Window – a window to text-message questions or other information to your Assessor and read their response.

  • C. Placeholder – a space to hold videos and other evidence until you are ready to attach them to specific criteria. Items in this area will not be assessed.

  • D. Enter Portfolio – you will find this section by scrolling down in your Dashboard. Select a unit (a) and click Enter Portfolio (b) to view details about tasks/criteria assigned for your module.

  • Enter your portfolio and click on the Green G (c) beside each task/criterion (see arrow) to view guidance on competence you are required to demonstrate in your video.

  • Note: Reviewing the task/criteria guidance before video recording is recommended.

  • Attach evidence to every task/criterion assigned for your module.

  • All evidence attached will be reviewed by a trained assessor and feedback provided accordingly.
